The core elements of this workshop are a critical and questioning approach to social media and checking the truthfulness of media content. The first part of the almost 90 minutes is an examination of the characteristics of fakes or fake news in young people’s social media (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube). Knowledge about the different types of fakes and their backgrounds is also taught. In the second part, simple experiments are used to test the authenticity of viral videos.
This workshop is designed for young people aged 13 and over. You do not need to bring anything with you. The workshop is free of charge.
