What is researched at an international research institute and how is work done there? In our VISTA Summer Campus research programs, young people get to know the ISTA campus, meet scientists, visit laboratories and learn about the latest research findings in a fun way. In various workshops, students in different age groups can experiment, research, tinker, program and experience science up close.

There is a lot to discover in the Vienna Woods nature reserve. We explore the different habitats and their inhabitants and investigate the biodiversity of the forest. On campus, we learn about the methods used by researchers at ISTA to uncover the secrets of nature. Here you will become a naturalist!
Attention young explorers! museum gugging invites you on an exciting journey of discovery in and around the museum. We will explore the question of what connects art and science, be inspired by science for creative works, play art detectives and follow in the footsteps of Gugging artist Johann Garber.
How does iron rust? What does electricity have to do with chemistry? Which dyes can be found in leaves?
With fascinating experiments and in exchange with ISTA chemists, participants learn about the exciting world of chemistry.
Immerse yourself in the world of microorganisms and explore how life works on the smallest scale. Through carefully selected experiments, you will get to know living organisms that are invisible to the naked eye. However, they are of great importance to us humans – especially for researchers!
Have you ever watched a robot vacuum cleaner? How does it know where to go? In this group, you will build and program your own robots and learn how to program your first computer game.
Here you will be whisked away into a world of creativity and design: Together with other young inventors, you will create, test and improve completely new things from everyday materials. In the process, you will learn a lot about the physical principles behind exciting phenomena in a fun way and experience how small mishaps can often lead the way to great successes.
