Maximilian Prüfer

Maximilian Prüfer is a German conceptual artist known for his innovative “naturantypie” technique. This technique captures delicate traces of natural phenomena, such as the movements of insects, on sensitized paper. His work deals with themes such as evolution, philosophy, and humanity's complex relationship with nature. He often highlights the effects of human intervention on ecosystems.
During his stay at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, he adapted some of his special techniques to laboratory environments and experimented with new manufacturing methods and natural fibers that could serve as motors for miniature sculptures inspired by insects.
