Leadership

Christian Bertsch is a science education expert and director of the VISTA Science Experience Center. With an extra dose of enthusiasm, he brings people together and develops new ideas to make science more accessible to everyone, thereby strengthening trust in science.
Gaia Novarino is the Vice President for Science Education at ISTA. She and her research group study the genetic foundations of brain development. She has always been fascinated by the human brain's learning capabilities and wants to pass on her enthusiasm for research to the next generation.
VISTA Program Development
The VISTA Development Team develops, tests, and evaluates innovative formats to make cutting-edge research more accessible. They work closely with ISTA scientists to create new workshops, teaching materials, training courses for teachers, and short videos for our digital channels.

Magdalena Steinrück
leads the VISTA Program Development Team, ISTA original with a background in research, and soon mom of three kids who get to try out all our new activities.

Magdalena Bauer
dedicated science educator who uses her expertise and a dash of humor to develop formats that bring science and society together.

Ana Rita Cavaco
as a VISTA Fellow, interviewing young researchers for the Next Gen Scientist webcast, and enriching team meetings not just with good ideas but often with delicacies from around the world.

Vifzack Academy and Young Talents Club mastermind and ever-cheerful event manager with a background in education studies and ambitions to a sports pilot's license.

Lisa-Maria Hanghofer
outdoor enthusiast with an inexhaustible reservoir of ideas and a love for sharing her expertise with teachers and science mediators.

Judita Huber
with her research experience, she develops and leads our Neuroscience Academy for teenagers. Besides, an enthusiastic choir singer and tea drinker.

Alice Laciny
develops and supervises small and large projects for science enthusiasts; also an insect researcher and inclusion expert in the team with a focus on neurodiversity.

Stefanie Santer
social media and website jack-of-all-trades with project management skills, bringing together people and results with her whole heart.

Laura Sartori
connecting generations as the radiant face of the “Ask the Science Granny!” project, and boxing tango dancer with an education studies background.
VISTA Operations
The VISTA Operations Team ensures that visitors to the VISTA Science Experience Center gain unique insights into the world of cutting-edge research. In our exhibitions, in the lab, but also in outreach formats with the VISTA Tuk-Tuk.

Annette Südbeck
leads the VISTA Operations Team and, with strategic vision and artistic insight, ensuring that everything runs smoothly at the VISTA Science Experience Center.

Georg Bauer
keeps track of external and internal project budgets so that everything always works out in the end. Besides, unofficial master of ceremony at ISTA and multiple national champion in improv theater.

Knowledge arises through dialogue
The VISTA Science Experience Center is a place of encounter and dialogue between science and society. Our science mediators play a central role in this. They support the VISTA core team in communicating science.
