Immerse yourself in the world of cutting-edge research and discover how today's ideas are shaping our future at the VISTA Science Experience Center. Interactive exhibits, exciting insights into current research topics, and inspiring stories from the world of science will make your visit a unique experience.
Explore the Science in the Making exhibition on your own or as part of a guided tour. Investigate fascinating questions in one of our many workshops. Or join tours like “Meet the Scientist” to learn firsthand about the research being conducted at ISTA and get to know our scientists personally.

Science as a Collaborative Process
“Science in the Making – How Is Tomorrow’s Knowledge Created?” invites you not only to discover answers, but also to ask questions yourself. The exhibition offers new perspectives on the role of science in our daily lives and society, as well as on the interplay between research, technology, art, and design. It shows that knowledge is not created in isolation. It emerges through exchange, experimentation, and dialogue.

Encounters in the Milky Way
Starting now, the auditorium of the VISTA Science Experience Center will be transformed into a special cinema. In collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), the short film “Encounters in the Milky Way” will be shown in Austria for the first time.
The narrator is Hollywood star Pedro Pascal, who uses his distinctive voice to describe the stars, comets, gas and dust clouds, and cosmic events that shape our solar system.

Meet the Scientist: Santiago Torres
Santiago Torres is an astrophysicist. He served as one of the scientific advisors for the short film “Encounters in the Milky Way.” During this guided tour, Santiago will explain how his scientific discoveries shaped the concept behind the film.
Afterward, you’ll join him for a visit to the interactive exhibition “Science in the Making,” where you can experience research up close. The tour with Santiago Torres will be conducted in English.

Embedded within the research campus of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, the building invites direct dialogue with science. Open, light-filled spaces and a strikingly curved roof symbolize the dynamism and openness of cutting-edge research in the 21st century. In its 9.000 roof tiles, the vibrant atmosphere of the campus is reflected, while the VISTA Coffee Lab invites visitors to engage in conversation, exchange ideas, or simply relax.
