VISTA Science Experience Center House Rules
1. These house rules apply to all VISTA Science Experience Center premises located at Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) and its affiliated activities. By entering, visitors acknowledge these rules. The VISTA Science Experience Center House Rules apply in addition to the ISTA House Rules and the Campus Rules for the Campus Klosterneuburg.
2. All visitors must comply with the house rules. They are responsible for any expenses or damage caused by their actions to the building, the exhibition objects, and the fixed and movable equipment, unless expenses or damage are due to willful intent or gross negligence on the part of ISTA. Parents are liable for their children.
3. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult supervisor. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the children in their care to prevent accidents and damage. Parents are liable for breaches of supervisory duties toward their children. The person supervising children and school groups is liable. Special conditions of participation for group offers may apply in addition to these house rules.
4. The instructions of the VISTA Science Experience Center staff must be followed without exception.
5. Touching exhibits is not permitted. This does not apply to designated hands-on objects.
6. Umbrellas, backpacks, and bags larger than A3 format (29.7 cm x 42.0 cm) and/or deeper than 25.0 cm must be locked in a locker in the checkroom. The VISTA Science Experience Center is not liable for any valuables left in the checkroom, unless the damage is due to willful intent or gross negligence on the part of the ISTA. Parents with children under four years of age may take their bags or backpacks with them after a check. Baby carriages may only be brought in if there is sufficient space and for exceptional cases.
7. Animals of any kind are prohibited. This does not apply to leashed assistance and therapy dogs. The corresponding ID must be presented to the reception staff.
8. Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are generally prohibited.
9. Eating and drinking are prohibited throughout the basement, especially in the exhibition area.
10. Photography and filming are only permitted without a flash or tripod, and exclusively for private purposes. Photographs for other purposes require prior approval and registration. We reserve the right to prohibit photography and filming completely on a case-by-case basis.
11. Emergency exits may only be used in emergencies. All traffic routes, escape routes, and exits must remain unobstructed. Furnishings, chairs, and benches may not be moved from their designated locations.
12. When the fire alarm sounds, follow the instructions of the VISTA Science Experience Center staff at all times. Exit the building by the shortest route. Do not use the elevator.
13. You may only visit the exhibition area when accompanied by a VISTA employee. We kindly ask you to leave the exhibition if requested by the staff.
14. It is not permitted to bring hazardous substances, weapons, etc., into the exhibition area. Security and supervisory staff are authorized to check bags if there is sufficiently concrete suspicion of carrying prohibited items.
15. The VISTA Science Experience Center reserves the right to expel visitors from the premises and to issue a permanent ban in the event of gross violations of these house rules or other improper behavior.
