Ever worried someone might be listening in on your communications? Join us for a hands-on journey through different ways to hide your messages. From Ancient Greece to modern smartphones, we will start by experiencing not just what encrypting a message means, but how it feels to be a code-breaker. Soon, you will have developed an intuition on the goals of modern encryption and will be able to understand some of the problems that modern research in cryptography focuses on. We will end with a discussion on how research alone can sometimes not answer all our questions and but needs input from all of us.
