Meeting point and accessibility

The meeting point for the tour is at the museum gugging. The tour includes a 10-minute walk with some steep sections. If you prefer to cover this section by car, you can also drive the route comfortably—parking is available nearby. There is also an elevator from the VISTA building that leads directly to the parking lot. This is accessible with the assistance of staff and can be used by wheelchair users.

Registration takes place via the museum gugging website.

The tour is suitable for ages 9 and up. For children under 14, the presence of an accompanying adult is required. Tickets must be booked for all attendees. The workshop will be held in German.

The tour connects two exhibition venues in Maria Gugging: the museum gugging and the new VISTA Science Experience Center on the research campus of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA). The focus is on the working processes in art and science, which are similar and different in some respects. We talk about how creative thinking in science leads to innovative breakthroughs and how scientific interest gave rise to a new group of artists who shook up and enriched the Austrian art scene in the 1970s. Learn more about the history of this special place where science and art coexist permanently.

The program is a joint project of museum gugging and VISTA Science Experience Center.
