Ice, Water & Rock: A Glacier Journey

From Austria's iconic Pasterze Glacier to the last stable glaciers in Tajikistan, from an Alaskan debris-covered giant to the tropical glaciers of Peru, these landscapes are changing, and with them, the water that sustains communities and ecosystems. In this tour, you will meet the scientists who study these “icy giants”! Thomas, Catriona, Achille and Vicente will take you on a journey across four continents, revealing how fieldwork in these remote locations helps us understand the future of our water resources.

Join them as they share stories from the field, from drilling into ice to studying the link between melting ice and mountain wetlands. You will see video previews from the documentary series, “Ice, Water & Rock”, followed by a discussion panel, where you can ask your own questions and get a first-hand impression of what it’s like to work in these awe-inspiring mountain regions. Following this conversation, they will take you on a tour of the interactive exhibition “Science in the Making”.

The tour will be held in English.

Recommended for ages 12+. For children under 14, the presence of an accompanying adult is required. Tickets must be booked for all attendees.
